A sleeve is bought on one number, and every card on this page prints it first: the screen diagonal the sleeve was cut for. The four sizes are 13.3, 14, 16 and 17.3 inches, and the 16-inch sleeve is the one that takes a 15.6-inch laptop as well, which is why it comes in the most colours. Inside the number the construction is the same on all four: water-resistant nylon on the outside, a foam layer on each face, a soft lining, a mesh pocket on the outside for a charger and a mouse, and a handle on the top edge so the sleeve goes from a bag to a desk without being hugged.

The zip is the detail people write in about. It runs along the top and down both sides, so the sleeve opens flat to a hundred and eighty degrees and the laptop lifts straight out; there is no pushing a laptop into a pocket. That is what makes the sleeve quick at an airport lane, where in standard screening TSA asks for the laptop out of the bag and into its own bin, and what makes it the case people keep a laptop in inside a bigger bag. Between two sizes, take the larger: a laptop with a hard case on it needs the next sleeve up, and a sleeve that is tight does not close.

Which YTONET laptop sleeve size do you need?

Measure the screen corner to corner in inches and take the sleeve that names that figure: 13.3, 14, 16 or 17.3. A 15.6-inch laptop goes in the 16-inch sleeve. If the laptop wears a hard case, or the figure sits between two sizes, take the larger sleeve.

Is a YTONET laptop sleeve waterproof?

Water-resistant, which is a different claim: the nylon carries a coating that beads a splash or a shower, and the zip is covered where rain would run down it. A sleeve left open in a downpour will let water in at the zip, and every card here says water-resistant, which is the claim the cloth can carry.

Does a YTONET laptop sleeve let the laptop stay in at airport security?

TSA's own page on laptops says that in a standard lane the laptop comes out of the bag and into a bin, and that PreCheck travellers leave it in. The sleeve opens flat so that takes one movement, but the lane decides, and we do not describe any sleeve here as approved by anyone.
