YTONET bag

A sleeve is the piece most people on this shelf buy, and the number on its card is the only decision: measure the laptop corner to corner across the screen and take the sleeve that names that figure. The sleeves are water-resistant nylon with a foam layer on both faces, a handle on the top edge and a mesh pocket for a charger, and the top zip opens to a hundred and eighty degrees so the laptop can be screened without leaving the case. The briefcase is the bag for the day when the sleeve is not enough: a padded 17-inch compartment, an expansion zip that adds nearly two inches of depth, and a strap on the back for a suitcase handle. The teacher tote is a tote first and a laptop bag second, with a cup holder sewn in and an insulated pocket for lunch, and it rides on a rolling bag as easily as on a shoulder.

What a checkpoint-friendly sleeve does at security, how a sleeve size is measured, and what the teacher tote carries that a sleeve does not.

How do you know which YTONET laptop sleeve fits your laptop?

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, and match the figure on the card, which is 13.3, 14, 16 or 17.3. A 15.6-inch laptop goes in the 16-inch sleeve. If the laptop wears a hard case, take the next sleeve up; a tight sleeve does not close.

What does a YTONET laptop sleeve do at airport security?

It opens flat on a zip that runs along the top and down both sides, so the laptop lifts straight out. In a standard lane TSA asks for the laptop out of the bag and into its own bin, and PreCheck travellers leave it in; the sleeve makes the first case one movement and does not change the second. We do not describe any sleeve as approved by anyone.

What does the YTONET teacher tote carry that a sleeve does not?

Everything else in a teacher's day: a padded 15.6-inch sleeve plus a wide compartment for exercise books, a cup holder sewn into the side, an insulated pocket for lunch, and a strap on the back that slides over the handle of a rolling bag so the two move as one in the morning.
